HOLA JEFE is a professional DJ and event manager currently based in Kampala, Uganda. Through his sound collective, SOUL TRI3E, he runs some of Kampala’s leading electronic music events in the country.
HOLA JEFE has played alongside some of the most respected talents in the global electronic music industry including; Themba, Sun El Musician, Enoo Napa, DJ Maphorisa, Da Capo, Enzo Siffredi, Pablo Fierro, Caiiro, Stereo Express, Floyd Lavine, Kasango, Kususa, Hyenah, Lemon & Herb and many more.
His musical journey began at a young age, creating mixes & burning CDs for students at his high school. Several years down the road, HOLA JEFE landed in the dynamic city of San Francisco, California, where his career as a DJ was ignited. During a period of deep musical exploration and experimentation, HOLA JEFE discovered his love for electronic music.
Upon leaving California, HOLA JEFE began his Ugandan deejaying career as a resident DJ at the popular Embers Bar, which at the time was credited with opening the doors to several of the country’s up and coming DJs.
The vibrant, eye-opening experiences HOLA JEFE encountered throughout his journey set him on the mission he is on today; to promote the culture of LOVE through his vibrant, soulful and unique rhythms. He has established himself as a leading electronic music DJ in Uganda and has been instrumental in shaping the electronic music scene in the country.
HOLA JEFE has become a familiar face at some of Africa’s most prestigious festivals and events such as Sonic Sanctuary, Sacred Spaces, Nyege Nyege Festival, Bayimba Festival of The Arts, Blue Moon Festival, Uhuru Muziki & Open Air Kampala to name a few. He has headlined performances in Kigali, Rwanda for the Gorilla Collective and Nairobi, Kenya for the legendary MUZE Club & the popular ADUMA showcase.
HOLA JEFE has also played internationally at various venues in Europe including Stockholm, Zurich and 211 in Paris. He has collaborated with some of Zanzibar’s most prestigious venues such as Coral Rocks, Aurora & Masai Mara.
He is currently the resident DJ of the new AFRODISIAC series, which features some of the best Afro House talent from around the world.
HOLA JEFE is also the artistic director of Sacred Spaces.
