«Hey, please call me 1key. I’m an independent artist experimenting with sounds, music, visuals, installation, acting and performing. I rhyme in three languages mainly though I casually speak six. My influences are a mix of Rwandan traditional folk storytelling, French and US rap with a penchant for lyricism, some congolese Rhumba, a bit of RnB, Neo Soul, and some infusion of pop, punk, rock elements.
I live in East Africa. Usually touring across Europe, mainly Germany and France.
I have been blessed to collaborate with great talents such as Saul Williams on Nepfune Frost– a film that became Coup de Coeur of Cannes Festival 2021;
I featured on J Ivy’s 2022 Grammy-nomitated album Catching Dreams;
I have been invited by Gael Faye on a number of sets including this performance in Toulouse, France;
I’m a nomad touring the world so there’s a chance we might bump into eah other.
